troubleshooting keeping me up at night

There is something seriously wonky about my nginx configuration and I can't for the life of me figure out what the problem is. And it has kept me up all night attempting to troubleshoot. In fact, the whole server has been acting a little oddly for a few months.

When I am off the home network, attempting to go to my Yourls admin page nets a forbidden error unless I add a trialing / to the url. When I try to go to fyrfli.me, I get gitea.fyrfli.io. It's all so weird. I suspected it had to do with IPv6 addressing, and I think I a right - when on the cellular network, my phone gets an IPv6 address but no IPv4. The home network has no IPv6 addressing because this is Missouri.

The only thing I can think of to "fix" it is to reinstall everything ... but that's such a big job and it entails kicking people off the sites for however long it takes me to get things up and running again.

At this point, though, I think it's probably going to have to be done.

So ... I need to make a migration plan.

I had to do it anyway because I think my VPS is slightly overpowered ... to put it mildly.

waaay op - look at all the cpu going to waste

Yeah ... it may be time to do a reinstall ...

/sigh
